Shagang Group is one of China's largest privately controlled steel groups. Its best-known manufacturing base is in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu, but the group identity should not be confused with any single factory or export seller.

Development and corporate naming

Shagang developed from a local Jiangsu steel operation into a major integrated producer through capacity expansion, acquisitions and investment in flat as well as long steel. The group name may appear on quotations, whereas stock certificates or invoices may show a specific operating company. In due diligence, ask whether the quoted producer is the Zhangjiagang works or another Shagang-associated facility.

Output and products
