Ownership, names and history

SeAH CSS is a separate operating producer in the SeAH specialty-metals ecosystem. Its historical operating identities should be checked on older material certificates.

Products and manufacturing capability

Korea Iron & Steel Association identifies seamless tubes, special-steel wire rod, bars, blooms and billets in the SeAH CSS product range. SeAH reports completion of a large-diameter seamless stainless-pipe plant in 2017.

What this means for buyers

For stainless and seamless-tube RFQs, distinguish the steelmaker, tube-making works, product standard, solution treatment, corrosion tests and MTC traceability.

Common confusion to avoid

Its seamless capability should not be treated as evidence that SeAH Steel’s welded-pipe lines manufacture seamless pipe.

Practical procurement checklist

• Identify the exact legal manufacturer, producing works, seller and mill-test-certificate issuer.
• Confirm the offered grade, dimensions, processing route, heat treatment and testing requirements for that works.
• Obtain current product-/works-specific certificates and confirm expiry and grade/thickness scope.
• Verify project or end-user AML/AVL separately: a group affiliation never transfers approval automatically.
• Distinguish stated annual capacity, reported crude-steel output and shipment figures.
• Check whether historical names on stock MTCs match the manufacturer at the time of production.
